Photochromic bifocals hit KICKSTARTER.

As previewed here some time ago and now on KICKSTARTER are these lightweight sunglasses with options of photochromic or photochromic bi focal for those who require glasses to read.

Over a year ago we were approached to offer some feedback on an idea for photchromic sunglases with a " bifocal reader" insert at an affordable price.

Here is the original article and  Forum thread

Well they are getting closer to becoming reality and have just hit Kickstarter with a crowd funding campaign as is all the rage these days.

From their site:

The PHOTOCHROMIC lens darkens or lightens depending on available UV light. The high impact resistant LEXAN lens was originally created for the serious cyclist who may ride before dawn and then into full sunlight. The lenses are available in two options Clear (CAT0) which darken to Grey (CAT2) in full sun and, High Definition Amber (Cat2) which darkens to (CAT3) in full sun.

The bi - focal reader option, are moulded discretely into the rear of the lens and when being worn are not evident to those around.. Lens power options are +1.50, +2.00 and +2.50.

These lenses enable the wearer (who is long sited) to read instrumentation or printed matter without the inconvenience of having to change glasses.

So if you want to check them out and avail yourself of the opportunity to get in early and get them at a discount, have a look at the Kickstarter HERE.
