The keen triathletes were planning on racing at IRONMAN® 70.3® Ballarat as a team to raise money for research into MS, but have decided to also help Richards live out her dream.
"Sharee has had a bucket list of items to do that she is working through with this being one of them. She has been doing an enormous amount of fundraising for MS and this year was the perfect opportunity to put everything together and help Sharee reach her goal of walking across the finish line," Bush said.
Training has been a challenge with the team spread all over Australia – Corcoran (swim) and Bush (bike) live in New South Wales, Sullivan (run) in Western Australia and Richards in Hawthorn in Victoria.
"The only training session together is Justin and Sharee have completed a swim to get a feel for the kayak and towing a person. Each of us has been training with either our kids helping out in various trailers, surfboards or prams to prepare for the race."
For her part Sharee is excited, nervous and grateful.
"I am absolutely blown away by my friends supporting me to help me achieve a bucket list item along with raising well needed funds. I feel very blessed and lucky to have such wonderfully supportive friends," she said.
Over 1,600 age group athletes will be chasing racing across IRONMAN 70.3 Ballarat weekend.
