We are delighted to announce, after much deliberation, three new athletes to join the team for 2016. Welcome to the team Jared Medurst, Nat Heath and Tyler Allan.
We had a brilliant response to our application process and could have filled the positions many times over with exceptional athletes.
Jared Medhurst, 35, joins the team on the back of some very strong 2015 results. Mixing it with the pro’s at Ironman WA with a 7th overall, age group win and fastest age group athlete (8:44), and an 8th overall at Ironman 70.3 Bintan (4:22). Jared targeting both the Sunny Coast Ironman 70.3 and Kona World Champs in 2016.
Nat Heath, 30, was part of the Indigenous Marathon Project (founded by Rob De Castella) in 2012 and was the first IMP runner to run a sub 3 hour Marathon. Hailing from Foster, Nat has grown up watching Australian Ironman history and always dreamt of being a part. In 2015 Nat completed Ironman Port Macquarie, was age group winner and 19th overall in 9:28. Subsequently taking his Kona slot, racing Kona 15 and proudly representing indigenous Australian’s on the big stage. Nat now eager to take the next step with his own development but also help the team contribute to, and drive, our vision of giving back. An area Nat has terrific skills and experience, working with the Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience.
Tyler Allan, 19, joins as our first developmental athlete and part of our vision of giving back. Supporting up and coming long course athletes. Tyler comes from racing ITU junior series before making the switch to long course in 2015.
Debuting at Hell of the West, winning the age group and coming 19th overall in 4:04. Then targeting the 2015 ITU Long Course World Championships, becoming a World Champion, winning his age group in 6:00. Tyler is now targeting the Ironman 70.3 World Champs and defending the ITU Long Course World Champ title in 2016.
Jared, Nat and Tyler join our 2015 Ironman World Champ Ben Bell, Dave Kennett and Scott Hobson as the Fusion Team Aus athletes for 2016.
The team sponsor line-up includes Fusion Multisport, Athlete’s Foot, POC and Fuel Belt.
Excited about what Fusion Team Aus can achieve, both on and off the track?
