Triathlons night with the stars.

You know those conversations that pop up after a few drinks. “If you could invite two people to dinner who would you choose?” Usually this puts you on the spot and you are expected to say something “high-brow” like the Dalai Llama and Albert Einstein and if you were to slip in a sportsperson then the likes of Sir Roger Bannsiter and Mohammed Ali are often deemed acceptable, but in reality you would really like to share the table with the likes of Billy Connolly and Megan Gale for a more entertaining evening.

If the question though, was which two triathletes would you most like to spend an evening with, then I’m pretty sure that a few names would be common to most lists and if your list contains the names Dave Scott and Craig Alexander then your ultimate night of triathlon is about to come true.

Brett Davidson from Outside the Box Management has managed to get hold of Dave Scott on his one and only free night when in Australia and teamed him up with Craig Alexander for a night of Triathlon information, entertainment, Q and A and much, much more.

The night for this, possibly once in a lifetime experience, is Tuesday the 2nd of December and the venue is the Urban Hotel Brisbane.

Tickets for General Admission will be $99, which is well under $10 per Ironman victory if you add up their respective resumes. If you are reading this site then there is probably a fair chance that you already know a lot about these two exceptional athletes so there is not much point wasting web space telling you any more about them, except to say that Dave Scott along with Mark Allen is considered one of the greatest Ironman athletes of all time and Crowie is one of the best of more recent times.

The night is attempting to be a little different, the Q and A session will be interactive, of course, but the opportunity will exist for attendees and non-attendees alike to submit their questions online, prior to the event, so that on the night full and thorough answers to the chosen questions can be given. Questions can cover any aspect of the sport be it training, nutrition, racing or any myths or facts that you want answered or clarified. I the lead up to the event a few select questions will be answered and the answers posted to Facebook and to the event webpage to give a sample of what to expect and also so those who may be unable to attend can still get some pearls of wisdom from these two greats. The pair will also share some of their coaching expertise and will include demonstrations of their favourite and most beneficial exercises and if they are any sort of salesmen will no doubt make you aware of their respective coaching services. If the promo video is anything to go by though, there should also be a few entertaining anecdotes to keep everyone amused as well.

The night is scheduled to run for approximately 2.5 hours and there is also the possibility of some sponsors giveaways to take home, if you think you aren’t already getting your moneys worth and if you need a bed then the folks at “Outside the Box” are working on trying to get a special room rate for the event at the Urban Hotel in case you want to make a night of it and catch up with a few friends.

There is also the opportunity to take up one of the limited VIP packages which will be being offered. These offer the opportunity to catch up with Dave and Craig for an hour before the presentation in the cocktail bar. These tickets will also give access to VIP seating for the event, will include a night’s accommodation and the chance to have a run/gym training session with Dave and Craig on the Wednesday morning.

So if your better half is dropping hints about what to buy "the triathlete that has everything" for Christmas then you can point them to the event website and if you have been extra nice (or extra naughty if that’s your thing) then maybe try for the V.I.P package.
